Turkey Gravy



  • 1 lb package of turkey thighs or breasts [no giblets please]
  • 3 2-cup packages Pioneer turkey gravy mix
  • 4 cups dripping off the baked turkey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  1. Place turkey in a 4 qt covered pan
  2. Cover turkey with water and salt
  3. Bring turkey to a boil
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 or 3 hours until tender
  5. Remove from heat and let cool
  6. Cut turkey into small pieces
  7. Remove drippings from turkey and pour into a 4 cup measuring cup in the sink
  8. Mix Pioneer turkey gravy mix into 2 cups water
  9. Add turkey drippings to cut up turkey
  10. Add gravy mix
  11. Bring to a boil for at least one minute
  12. Cover and keep warm until ready to serve
  13. Makes about 8 cups of gravy
