Ingredients
- 1 lb package of turkey thighs or breasts [no giblets please] or ground turkey
- 3 2-cup packages Pioneer turkey gravy mix
- 4 cups dripping off the baked turkey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Brown ground turkey
- Or place turkey in a 4 qt covered pan
- Cover turkey with water and salt
- Bring turkey to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for 2 or 3 hours until tender
- Remove from heat and let cool
- Cut turkey into small pieces
- Remove drippings from turkey and pour into a 4 cup measuring cup in the sink
- Add turkey drippings to cut up turkey
- Mix Pioneer turkey gravy mix
- Bring to a boil for at least one minute
- Add turkey to gravy mix
- Cover and keep warm until ready to serve
- Makes about 8 cups of gravy
