Turkey Gravy



  • 1 lb package of turkey thighs or breasts [no giblets please] or ground turkey
  • 3 2-cup packages Pioneer turkey gravy mix
  • 4 cups dripping off the baked turkey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  1. Brown ground turkey
    • Or place turkey in a 4 qt covered pan
    • Cover turkey with water and salt
    • Bring turkey to a boil
    • Reduce heat and simmer for 2 or 3 hours until tender
    • Remove from heat and let cool
    • Cut turkey into small pieces
    • Remove drippings from turkey and pour into a 4 cup measuring cup in the sink
    • Add turkey drippings to cut up turkey
  2. Mix Pioneer turkey gravy mix
  3. Bring to a boil for at least one minute
  4. Add turkey to gravy mix
  5. Cover and keep warm until ready to serve
  6. Makes about 8 cups of gravy
