2 lbs. extra lean ground beef 2 cups dried red kidney beans 1 Tablespoon salt 1 lb or more bacon ends 1 cup chopped onion 1 Tablespoon freeze dried garlic 1 28 oz. can tomatoes 1 6 oz. can tomato paste 4 tablespoons chili powder 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed | 4 lbs. 85-15% lean ground beef 6 cans of red beans 2 Tablespoons salt 2 lb bacon ends 2 cups chopped onions 2 Tablespoons freeze dried garlic 4 14.5 oz. cans petite diced tomatoes 1 12 oz. can tomato paste 8 tablespoons chili powder [or less] 1 teaspoon cumin seed add water if needed |
- If using dried beans follow label directions.
- Cut up bacon ends.
- Fry bacon until tender to crisp.
- Fry beef and onions.
- Drain grease.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Simmer for 2 hours.
