Ingredients:
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- ¾ cup water
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup nuts
- In the two quart saucepan combine the sugar, the light corn syrup, water, and salt.
- Heat about 19 minutes stirring every five minutes until mixture reaches 260 degrees on a candy thermometer.
- Beat egg whites very stiff maybe 15 minutes.
- Stir in hot syrup on high on the mixer to the egg whites. Likely 12 minutes.
- Mix in vanilla and nuts.
- Drop candy on waxed paper and let cool. oh
