- 1 pkg (16 oz) French Green Beans
- 8 slices bacon
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup vinegar
- ½ cup almonds, slivered
- Place frozen beans in container and cover with water.
- Place on stove top and bring to a boil.
- Boil for 3 minutes.
- Drain
- In a large skillet brown bacon until crisp.
- Remove bacon from skillet and crumble, reserving grease in skillet.
- Add beans, sugar, vinegar and almond to bacon grease.
- Over medium heat, simmer mixture 15 minutes.
- Add crumbled bacon and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
