Apple Raisin Pie


  • 6 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup raisins 
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 unbaked 10 inch pastry shell
  1. Combine brown sugar, butter, cornstarch, milk, and vanilla in a saucepan;
  2. Cook until slightly thickened stirring constantly.
  3. Place apples and raisins in 10 inch baked pastry shell.
  4. Pour cooked mixture over the apples and sprinkle pecans over top. 
  5. Bake for about 1 hour and 350′
