Old-Fashioned Apple Pie


  • 3/4 to 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 6 to 7 cups sliced peeled apples (4 large Granny Smiths)
  • 2 tablespoon butter

  • Pan: 9″ pie plate
  • Oven: 425
  • Time: 50 – 60 Minutes
  • – until crust is browned and apples are tender
  1. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  2. Mix lightly through apples (sliced 1/4″ thick).
  3. Heap in pastry-lined 9″ pie pan.
  4. Dot with butter.
  5. Adjust top crust and flute edges.
  6. Cut vents.
  7. Bake.
