Halloween Chili


Regular Batch – Toni’sDouble Batch – 2018 – Shirl’s
2 lbs. extra lean ground beef
2 cups dried red kidney beans
1 Tablespoon salt
1 lb or more bacon ends
1 cup chopped onion
1 Tablespoon freeze dried garlic
1 28 oz. can tomatoes
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
4 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin seed
4 lbs. 85-15% lean ground beef
6 cans of red beans
2 Tablespoons salt
3 lb thick bacon
1 large onion – chopped
2 Tablespoons freeze dried garlic
4 14.5 oz. cans petite diced tomatoes
1 12 oz. can tomato paste
6 tablespoons chili powder [or less]
1 teaspoon cumin
add water if needed
  1. If using dried beans follow label directions.
  2. Cut up bacon – inch pieces
  3. Fry bacon until crisp.
  4. Fry beef and onions.
  5. Drain grease.
  6. Add remaining ingredients.
  7. Simmer for 2 hours.

2018 – made this the day before and put on stove to reheat – 3 hours
