Cranberry-Apple Pie


  • 3 cups raw Ocean Spray cranberries
  • 3/4 cups apple cider or juice
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mace
  • 2 1/2 cups sliced peeled apple  (2 1/2 to 3 large Granny Smiths)
  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • Pan: 9″ pie plate
  • Oven: 425
  • Time: 50 – 60 Minutes
  • – until crust is browned and apples are tender

  • 1. Combine cranberries and apple cider or juice.
  • 2. Cook and stir 5 to 8 minutes or till cranberry skins pop.
  • 3. Combine granulated sugar, cornstarch, and mace.
  • 4. Stir into hot cranberries.
  • 5. Cook quickly, stirring constantly, till mixture thickens and bubbles,
  • 6. Remove from heat.
  • 7. Stir in apples.
  • 8. Set aside to cool.
  • 9. Prepare pastry.
  • 10. Turn cranberry mixture into pastry.
  • 11. Dot with butter.
  • Cranberry-Apple Pie Topping
  • 1 cup whipping cream,
  • 1/4 powdered sugar,
  • 2 tablespoons brandy.
