Ten Bean Soup

Bean Dry Mix;
1/3 cup Black beans
1/3 cup Navy beans
1/3 cup Kidney beans
1/3 cup Baby Lima beans
1/3 cup Pinto beans
1/3 cup Chick peas (Garbanzos)
1/3 cup Split peas
1/3 cup Lentils
1/3 cup Pearl barley
1/3 cup Black-eyed peas
4 chicken breasts - boned, skinned and cubed
4 chicken thighs - boned, skinned and cubed
1 lb. smoked sausage cut in chunks
ham hock
1 lb. ham - cubed
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 tablespoon salt
2 medium onions - chopped
2 cloves garlic - minced
6 sticks celery - diced
1 large bell pepper - chopped
1 package Bouquet Garni

  1. Rinse bean mix.
  2. Add water to cover and salt.
  3. Soak overnight.
  4. Drain.
  5. Add 3 1/2 quarts water, ham hock, and Bouquet Garni.
  6. Cover and simmer 3 hours.
  7. Add remaining ingredients.
  8. Simmer until chicken is done (15 to 30 minutes).

  1. 2 cans Huntís Petite Diced Tomatoes 14.5 oz for the tomatoes - Added in Island Park

  2. 1 pkg - 3 1/4 cups - Hurstís HamBeens 15 Bean Soup 1 lb 4 oz instead of all of the beans

  3. 2 pkgs John Morrell Ham steaks 16 oz for the ham

  4. 2 pkgs Hillshire Smoked Sausage 14 oz for the smoked sausage
