Sugar Cookies 

 - Julie's Favorite


Single Recipe

 

1 cup butter flavored Crisco

1 cup buttermilk

2 eggs

1 teaspoon baking soda

5 1/2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

 

Pan: cookie sheet - ungreased

Oven: 350'

Time: 10-12 minutes or until very lightly browned around edges.

 

Cookie cutter for Yellowstone: 32 oz. plastic cup with 3.5 to 4 inch top.

  1. Cream Crisco, eggs, sugar, and vanilla.

  2. Sift dry ingredients together.

  3. Mix all ingredients together.

  4. Knead dough like bread dough until well kneaded.

  5. Roll out till dough is 1/4 inch thick. (filled cookies 3/16)

  6. Cut out cookies using a glass for round cookies or cookie cutters

  7. Bake 10 minutes.

  8. Cool completely on parchment on table

  9. Frost cookies

Sugar Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Butter Cream Frosting

1 stick butter softened.

teaspoon salt.

Up to 4 tablespoons of milk start with 2 and go from there.

1 teaspoon vanilla.

Powdered sugar- continue to add more until the right consistency for frosting

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Double recipe

11 cups flour

4 cups sugar

1 teaspoon salt

3 teaspoons vanilla

 

Pan: parchment covered cookie sheet

Oven: 350'

Time: 10-12 minutes or until very lightly browned around edges.

 

Cookie cutter for Yellowstone: 32 oz. plastic cup with 3.5 to 4 inch top.

  1. Cream Crisco, eggs, sugar, and vanilla.

  2. Sift dry ingredients together.

  3. Mix all ingredients together very carefully - this will throw the flour all over the place so go slow.

  4. Knead dough like bread dough until well kneaded.

  5. Roll out till dough is 1/4 inch thick. (filled cookies 3/16)

  6. Cut out cookies using 3 inch round cookies

  7. Bake 10 minutes.

  8. Cool completely on parchment on table

  9. Frost cookies

  10. Allow frosted cookies to set until frosting is hard before bagging and boxing
