Sugar Cookies - Julie's Favorite


Single Recipe

 

1 cup butter flavored Crisco

1 cup buttermilk

2 eggs

1 teaspoon baking soda

5 1/2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

 

Pan: cookie sheet - ungreased

Oven: 350'

Time: 10-12 minutes or until very lightly browned around edges.

 

Cookie cutter for Yellowstone: 32 oz. plastic cup with 3.5 to 4 inch top.

  1. Cream Crisco , eggs, sugar, and vanilla.

  2. Sift dry ingredients together.

  3. Mix all ingredients together.

  4. Knead dough like bread dough until well kneaded.

  5. Roll out till dough is 1/4 inch thick. (filled cookies 3/16)

  6. Cut out cookies using 16 fl oz Cup - bigger ones use 32 oz. plastic cup with 3.5 to 4 inch top.

  7. Bake 10 minutes.

Sugar Cookie Buttercream Frosting

Butter Cream Frosting

1 stick unsalted butter softened.

teaspoon salt.

Up to 4 tablespoons of milk start with 2 and go from there.

1 teaspoon vanilla.

Powdered sugar- continue to add until the right consistency for frosting, up to 2 cups*

 


Double recipe
