Norma's Mint Brownies
2 1/4 cups sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cocoa
2 squares Baker's baking chocolate (unsweetened)
1 1/2 cups butter-flavored Crisco
2 1/2 cups flour
7 eggs
1 cup walnuts - chopped
2 teaspoons vanilla
Pan: large jelly-roll (15.5 x 10.5 x 1) - well-greased
Oven: 350
Time: 25 to 30 minutes
- Melt chocolate.
- Cream honey, vanilla, sugar, and Crisco .
- Add melted chocolate.
- Sift salt, cocoa, and flour together.
- Mix well and add walnuts (will be very thick).
- Beat eggs.
- Mix in, until all ingredients are just together - don't over mix.
- Bake.
- Freeze.
- Frost with green-mint frosting.
- Freeze.
- Frost with chocolate frosting.
Green Frosting
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon mint flavoring
1 teaspoon green food coloring
Chocolate Frosting
1/4 cup cocoa
3 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons milk
