Halloween Chili


    Regular Batch - Toni's

    Double Batch - 2018 - Shirl's

    • 2 lbs. extra lean ground beef

    • 2 cups dried red kidney beans

    • 1 Tablespoon salt

    • 1 lb or more bacon ends

    • 1 cup chopped onion

    • 1 Tablespoon freeze dried garlic

    • 1 28 oz. can tomatoes

    • 1 6 oz. can tomato paste

    • 4 tablespoons chili powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed

    • 4 lbs. 85-15% lean ground beef

    • 6 cans of red beans

    • 2 Tablespoons salt

    • 2 lb bacon ends

    • 2 cups chopped onions

    • 2 Tablespoons freeze dried garlic

    • 4 14.5 oz. cans petite diced tomatoes

    • 1 12 oz. can tomato paste

    • 8 tablespoons chili powder [or less]

    • 1 teaspoon cumin seed

    • add water if needed

  1. If using dried beans follow label directions.

  2. Cut up bacon ends.

  3. Fry bacon until tender to crisp.

  4. Fry beef and onions.

  5. Drain grease.

  6. Add remaining ingredients.

  7. Simmer for 2 hours.

2018 - made this the day before and put on stove to reheat - 3 hours
